The Apartment as a Medium for Self-Expression

A home is an unusually personal space. This apartment gives its resident the maximum amount of surface onto which to project who they are.
Narrative
The plan prioritises personality: minimal materiality and stark geometric lines leave room for the resident to fill, while a yellow-tinted window pulls warmth back into the space to offset that restraint.
Planning was driven by questions rather than zones — what do you see first, how does it feel to arrive, how does light reach the back of the plan, how can empty wall carry more than storage.
Key decisions
- Yellow-tinted glazing as the warming device against a minimal palette
- A sunken living area and raised work zone to structure the plan without walls
- A low wall at the entrance to zone arrival while letting light through
